Weekend MBA Program Overview...
Krannert's Weekend Master's of Business Administration Program (Weekend MBA) at Purdue University is an integrated degree-granting program of advanced study in management. It offers an innovative alternative to the traditional part-time program and results in a Master's degree from one of the world's best MBA schools. The program is designed for busy, high-potential managers and other professionals who make the commitment to obtain a quality master's degree in management from a highly-regarded institution. Krannert's Weekend MBA constitutes an additional section of the nationally-ranked Krannert Executive Master's of Business Administration Program, with the principal difference being the Saturday-only format (Spring and Fall semesters only, summers off). Participants in our Weekend MBA come from all parts of Indiana, as well as surrounding Midwestern states.
Program Design...
The program spans six semesters over a three-year period. Each semester, we
conduct a total of 13 Saturday sessions of six in-class hours each. We hold
classes on-campus only on Saturdays, and we do not schedule classes
during the summer months.
This schedule allows participants to complete
the program in a total of 78 Saturdays over six semesters in three years.
Participants take courses each semester, beginning Spring Semester
and Fall Semester .
An orientation session in January
initiates the program. See the Schedule link for the full calendar of classes.
Instruction matches the contact-hour content of our Executive Master's of Business Administration Program (EMBA). Classes are taught by the faculty of the Krannert Graduate School of Management, as well as select visiting faculty members. All are senior-level professionals well-known for their research, who also bring practical experience working with business firms and governmental agencies in a variety of roles. All have participated extensively in executive education programs for business and industry and are accomplished instructors.

Weekend MBA Program Philosophy...
The Krannert EMB Program and, consequently, our Weekend MBA Program, grew from the guiding principles that have consistently placed the Krannert School among the best MBA schools in the United States. Since its founding in 1995, the Krannert Weekend MBA Program has provided professional management education to people from a variety of backgrounds, including engineering, technical, and scientific disciplines. Krannert Executive MBA Programs were among the first graduate programs to foresee the developing interaction between business and technology.
The foundation upon which the Krannert Weekend MBA Program rests is a conviction that successful managers must learn throughout their careers. This belief is the basis for the school's undergraduate curriculum for young people planning to enter business, provides the instructional philosophy for the school's full-time graduate programs in management, and is why Krannert Executive MBA Programs exist - as the school's forum for continuing educational initiatives.
The risk and the cost of managerial obsolescence are higher in today's business environment than ever before. It is as necessary to nurture and improve the firm's management resources as it is to renew and upgrade its physical assets. Firms that lack the foresight to develop and invest in the managerial talent capable of assuming top executive responsibilities will not be among the leading firms of tomorrow. In the same fashion, the information explosion demands a continuous effort by the individual manager to keep abreast of new knowledge and new techniques to realize his or her career objectives.
