Our Mission
The Mission of KEEP
- The goal of Krannert Executive Education Programs (KEEP) is to be, and to
be recognized as being, one of the worlds premier university-based providers
of contemporary managerial education to practicing mid-career professionals.
- That objective has been, and will continue to be, attained through the design
and delivery of innovative degree and nondegree programs which are tailored
to the needs of managers lifelong education in the principles and practices
of effective business decision-making.
- In the process, we seek to enhance the external visibility and international
reputation of the Krannert Graduate School of Management and Purdue University
- and to enrich the set of teaching experiences which are available to the
Purdue faculty to foster their professional development.
Guiding Principles
- The core underlying disciplines of management are economics, the behavioral
sciences, and quantitative analysis.
- The process of management is heavily influenced by information availability
and the technology of information transfer.
- The competitive environment of business today is global rather than merely
national in nature.
- The audience for lifelong managerial education is also increasingly global
in character.
- An ability to reach a global audience requires in many instances the creative
use of modern computer-based communications technology.
- The other Schools and centers of learning at Purdue have substantial faculty
resources which can be incorporated into the Krannert Schools Executive
program offerings.
- Executive degree programs provide the highest level of external visibility
for the School and for Purdue.
- Program faculty should be drawn from within the existing Purdue faculty
whenever possible, in order to maximize the benefits to Purdue of the professional
faculty development opportunities presented by the programs.
- KEEP has a mission to address the needs of professionals within the state
of Indiana for managerial education, as well as to seek a broader audience
for our programs.
- Program fees should in all instances be sufficient to cover program costs
and make an additional contribution to the Krannert Schools and Purdues
financial resources.
- Because of Purdues West Lafayette location, innovative scheduling
and the use of selected distance-learning techniques will often be required
in order to attract participants to our programs.
