Participant Profile...
The target audience is managers or managers-to-be who will earn the MBA degree while continuing their employment. The objective is to provide broad general management training to experienced corporate personnel who presently have, or are about to assume, administrative responsibilities - individuals who require such training both to function more effectively in their current assignments and to enhance their career advancement potential.
The programs are cohort in nature; that is, all students in each class enter together, take a common set of courses, and graduate together. There are 48 total credits, 16 per module for each of the three modules, that participants must complete within two years.
Program participants have been highly motivated, upwardly mobile individuals. As promising business people, they are adept at managing their time, working long hours, challenging themselves intellectually, and combining their business experience and coursework meaningfully. Some additional characteristics include:
- an average age in the mid-30s when entering the program.
- an average of 12 years of professional work experience.
- a diversity of previous educational backgrounds including engineering, science, law, liberal arts, and medicine, as well as management and economics.
- functional titles such as division controller, information services manager, hospital administrator, operations manager, technical sales representative, manager of customer service, development leader, project engineer, advisory market support representative, product program manager, manager of technical services, and plant manager. Senior managers of small- and medium-sized manufacturing and service firms are regular participants, as are professionals from not-for-profit organizations and government agencies.
